Memento Mori Unisex Hoodie
Memento Mori Unisex Hoodie
"Death's heads" began appearing on gravestones throughout Connecticut in the early 1600s. Meant to reflect Puritan's grim take on mortality, it's ultimate inevitability and the physical decay of the human body after death. These death's heads moved from more human faces towards that of the winged skull over time. One of the primary forms of sculpture being produced in New England at the time, folk artists created their own unique styles of death's heads and other motifs throughout their careers.
I decided to make my own version for this collection. Pulling from my own New England roots and folk art style.
Printed with water based ink on a unisex Bella+Canvas hoodie. These hoodies run similar to slim fit men's sizing, for a more fitted look ladies may want to size down. Regular length. I am wearing a size small. See size chart for your prefered fit.
