The Kokanee (Oncorhynchus nerka) is one of the few land locked species of salmon. Spending their whole lives in freshwater, these fish can be seen in the fall spawning in western rivers including Little Bear River out of Porcupine Reservoir, Sheep Creek near Flaming Gorge Reservoir, and tributary streams of Strawberry Reservoir here in Utah.
